Mohawks & Father's Day

Happy Father's Day! We spent most of our weekend at the ballpark. The boys were 1-1 in pool play yesterday. The game they won Bradley pitched the complete game - walked only 1 had 8 strikeouts and only gave up two hits in 4 innings. We mercy ruled them 12-2. He played outfield the second game which we lost 9-5 on errors. Today, we came out smoking this morning and won our first game 10-1. We then lost the semi-final game 7-6 in the bottom of the last inning. It was a great game and our boys did a great job. Although it is always hard to lose, it was a very exciting baseball game.

Carson & Brock got mohawks last weekend so Bradley has been asking for one ever since. They worked hard at baseball camp all week so after the games were over today Bradley received his mohawk. They are so cute!

Hope everyone enjoys their day - we're all going swimming!

All-Star Weekend

Bradley was selected to the Travel Ball All-Star Team. The festivities were held this past weekend - complete with Umpire Olympics, Skills Competitions for each age group and the All-Star Games. Bradley and his teammates from travel ball all did a great job this weekend. Two of his teammates finished first and second in the Golden Arm and two more finished first and second in homerun derby. Bradley finished fourth in the fastest pitch. His team pulled out a last inning win in the first game and tied the second game so they declared themselves All-Star Champions. What fun we had!

TR & Tommy were able to catch some dolphin and king mackeral also so we were able to have a fish fry Saturday evening. Everyone enjoyed hanging around the pool and a good meal.

Birthday/Baseball Party

With a break in the action, we finally had time to have a birthday party for Bradley which we combined into a baseball team party since almost everyone was able to make it. We were very lucky as the weather held out - storming before and after the party but not during.
Special thanks to the Pride players who also joined us for Bradley's birthday celebration - he definitely had a great time.

Serenade....

A twilight serenade - Here's a pic of our neighbor's college kid a couple of doors down who likes to go up on the roof, play his guitar & sing. It's always great for a laugh - the chair is a new touch - usually he's either just sitting or standing. Guess he plans on being there for awhile tonite!

Pride Pics

As promised, here are some pics of Bradley and some of our Pride Players.

Bradley's job during BP - give balls to the pitcher when one goes foul.

Let's Go Pride!

So I will freely admit that I am behind on the blog - however I have good reasons.

First, let me bring you up to speed on Bradley (since that is what most everyone is interested in anyway). His baseball team played in an Open tournament last weekend - for those that are not familiar with baseball, in the 9U division there is an open division (upper level) and the AA division (lower level). We have been playing in the AA division all year. During pool play, we went 1-1 and the game they lost a big part of it was errors and mental mistakes. After a thorough tongue lashing by their coach they picked it up and won the second game. Back to the park on Sunday for a big game against our rivals the Panthers who normally play in the Open division. Bradley hit a triple in this game, scoring two and the he scored, helping his team to a 6-3 victory. We lost to a very good Open team - Team Combat in the semis. The boys were very happy with their performance overall.

For those of you who haven't heard, USSSA is now the manager of a women's Professional Fastpitch team - USSSA Pride. We have many great players on our team, including Olympians Kelly Kretschman, Caitlin Lowe and Monica Abbott. Everyone except Monica Abbott reported to spring training here in Florida this week. TR and Bradley have been VERY busy all week preparing the fields every day for practice and assisting the team in anything they need. From what I hear, Bradley is a great help and has shagged balls and helped the girls with soft toss in the cages. Yesterday I did get to go out to practice for a little while and it was amazing - can't wait for their season to start.

Stay tuned for pictures of Bradley & TR with the girls.
